With so many shows on Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime Video, fans are very selective with what they spend their time on. So, when a new series lands on the home screen, they often look at its online scores first. It looks like critics are impressed with the new Prime Video show that came out on February 2, Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

What Is Mr. and Mrs. Smith All About?

The new series is based on the original movie where we all fell in love with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s chemistry. The main characters are played by Donald Glover and Maya Erskine. Other actors starring in the series are Sarah Paulson, Ron Perlman, and Alexander Skarsgard. Phoebe Waller-Bridge was supposed to play the part of Mrs. Smith but exited due to “creative differences with Glover.”

The original Mr. and Mrs. Smith had success in Hollywood when it was released back in 2005, and Pitt divorced Friends star Jennifer Aniston after falling in love with Jolie on set. In the original movie, Brad and Angelina play a standard husband and wife who both appear to be assassins in competing agencies. The crucial part is that they both have the task of killing each other.

The Critics’ Ratings

The title Mr. & Mrs. Smith remains the same for the new series. However, the plot is slightly different. The two main characters are both spies and must pretend they’re a married couple. Their names remain the same as the ones in the original film – John and Jane Smith. You can expect both action scenes and great chemistry, according to critics. The show has an impressive 91% rating.
